Three Seattle Murder Cases Charged

Three new murder cases were filed today by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The specific charges filed are based on the Seattle Police investigations and what prosecutors believe can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

#1 The defendant in case number 24–1–00826–4 was charged with Murder in the First Degree. At first appearance, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office argued for the defendant to be held on $5 million bail. The court set bail at that amount after hearing from both sides.

In this case, the Defendant took deliberate and measured steps to choose his victim, a homeless man sleeping in a makeshift bed on the steps of Town Hall Seattle. Surveillance video establishes that the Defendant marked the victim’s location and open vulnerability nearly an hour before he returned, slowly approaching where the victim lay sleeping while repeatedly stopping to check his surroundings to ensure he was not being watched. Once the Defendant had crept to a position where he was standing directly over the sleeping victim, he paused a moment longer before bringing the axe up behind his head and swinging it in an arc back down onto the victim’s head.

#2 The defendant in case number 24–1–00102–2 was charged with Murder in the Second Degree. Bail for this defendant is set at $2 million.

The defendant initiated the fight, he threw the first several punches and when he was no longer able to continue his assault of the victim because he was being restrained against the train doors he pulled out a gun and executed the victim in front of half a dozen commuters on the train and then fled the scene.

#3 The defendant in case number 24–1–00825–6 was charged with Murder in the First Degree and Assault in the Second Degree. The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office argued for the defendant to be held on $5 million bail. The court set bail at that amount after hearing from both sides.

In the present case video footage captures the defendant holding the victim at gun point as she marches the victim down the stairs of an apartment complex. She leads the victim through the complex’s back door and forces the victim to the ground. The defendant then walks back into the building, letting the door between her and the victim shut behind her. Internal stairway video captures the precise moment in which the defendant, still armed with a firearm, stops halfway up the stairs and changes course to head directly back through the door in which she just came, back to where she left the victim. Standing over the victim the defendant taunts her, stating “say I won’t,” in essence daring the victim to question whether the defendant will in fact use very gun she’s been holding over the victim against her. It’s at this moment that the defendant shoots the victim multiple times, aiming the final shot into the back of the victim’s head.
