Three Attempted Murder Charges Filed in Bellevue Case (10/13/20)

On October 13, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed three attempted murder charges in the Bellevue case outlined below.

Shaerin Rose Kelley is charged with Attempted Domestic Violence Murder in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement.

Joseph Brandon Good is charged with Attempted Murder in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement. He also is facing a charge of Violation of the Uniformed Firearms Act in the Second Degree.

Quincy Dominic Mendez is charged with Attempted Murder in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement

Kelley is at the King County Jail. We asked a judge to hold her without bail, or $5 million in the alternative. A judge agreed to hold her without bail. Good and Mendez are held in juvenile detention, each with $2 million bail, following a judge’s order. A judge noted at Mendez’s first appearance that this type of crime is among the most serious in juvenile detention.

Neither Kelley nor Good nor Mendez were in court for a second appearance today because charges were filed. An arraignment, where a plea is entered, is the next step for each. The arraignments for all three are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Oct. 26 in room E1201A of the King County Courthouse.

No previous cases involving Kelley, Good or Mendez have been referred to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for a filing decision.

This post is based on information available as of Oct. 13, 2020, and is not expected to be updated as the case moves forward.
