Rush Filed Charges in Bellevue Fentanyl, Gun Case

--

We appreciate the work of Bellevue Police in this recent investigation, which recovered 161 grams of fentanyl, 48 grams of meth, and found a person with a felony conviction in possession of a loaded handgun in violation of court orders.

The defendant also had a warrant at the time of his arrest.

On Thursday, February 9, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office rush filed charges of:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the First Degree
  • Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act (possession with intent — fentanyl and methl)

From the public charging documents:

“the defendant was contacted by law enforcement while smoking narcotics in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that came back stolen. Upon a lawful search of the defendant and vehicle, law enforcement discovered a Ruger 9mm handgun underneath the driver’s seat and a number of different drugs: two bags of Methamphetamine totaling 48.05 grams; 161.24 grams of suspected Fentanyl pills; 19 suspected Morphine pills; 14 suspected Oxycodone pills; more than 150 grams of green and blue bar shaped pills, suspected to be Alprazolam. There was also more than $870 in cash and small plastic baggies, often used for distribution, found in the defendants control.”

King County prosecutors argued that the defendant is a danger to the community and should be held on $15,000 bail.

The investigation into an alleged accomplice remains ongoing, and King County prosecutors plan to act immediately when that case is referred to us.
