Redmond Teacher Charged with Communicating with a Minor for Immoral Purposes

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged a Redmond teacher with four counts of communication with a minor for immoral purposes.

The Seattle Police Department Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC) Task Force worked as part of an FBI operation to conduct undercover chats targeting people with a sexual interest in children. Seattle Police referred the investigation to our office on June 3 and, after an independent review, we filed criminal charges on June 4.

We asked that he be held on $70,000 bail. A judge agreed. The defendant was released after posting bond on that bail amount set by the judge.

The arraignment, where a plea is entered, is scheduled for June 17.
