Murder Charge in Renton Case

--

This morning, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged a defendant with Murder in the Second Degree with a deadly weapon enhancement for a fatal stabbing Sept. 27 in Renton.

From the public charging documents:

A Ring doorbell camera captured the incidents prior to the stabbing, specifically, it captured the victim walking out of the apartment with his back turned to the Defendant, who appeared to still be inside the home. Next, the Defendant is seen quickly attacking and striking the victim on the back of his head and shoulder area with a wooden stick. The Defendant struck the victim at least twice with this wooden stick. After this first aggression by the Defendant, he ran back into the apartment and the victim followed. Within fifteen seconds of the victim entering the apartment unit, the Defendant had already stabbed him twice with a large kitchen knife — one stab to the right flank and one stab to the victim’s back. This was a violent attack that started with a wooden stick and escalated to the use of a large kitchen knife, which was located in a sink and appeared to have been cleaned.

King County Prosecutors intend to file a motion to increase bail pursuant to the court rules.

Defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
