Man Sentenced in Ballard First-Degree Rape and Unlawful Imprisonment Case
On Friday, a man was sentenced to 102 months to life for a first-degree rape and unlawful imprisonment case that happened at a Ballard car dealership.
The case was the first case involving this individual that was sent to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and it was rushed filed by our office in 2018 (meaning it was filed within 72 hours).
At the time he was wanted on a bench warrant out of Seattle Municipal Court, which is separate from our office.
Following his sentence on Friday, the Department of Corrections handles the defendant’s confinement. That’s in line with state sentencing guidelines around first-degree rape cases.
Here’s initial coverage from The Seattle Times, KOMO, KING, KIRO, Q13 and MyNorthwest.
This case was handled by our Special Assault Unit, and they have 514 charged, ongoing criminal cases. That includes rape cases, child molestation, and other sex crimes. These cases are being addressed every week by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
