Charges in Federal Way Murder Case
This afternoon, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged a Federal Way man with Murder in the Second Degree — two counts with firearm enhancements — and Assault in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement.
From the public charging documents:
In the present case, the defendant shot three people in a grocery store parking lot late in the evening on June 16, 2023. Firing in excess of 20 rounds in a matter of seconds from the driver’s seat of a vehicle, the defendant intentionally fired upon individuals positioned both outside of and seated in the back of an adjacent vehicle. Each of the victims were struck multiple times resulting in fatal injuries to two and sending the third to the hospital in critical condition. The defendant later turned himself in to police and admitted his involvement in the shooting. Search of the vehicle in which he arrived at the police station, and that evidence supports was used in the shooting, revealed a firearm in the trunk. The firearm was equipped with an extended magazine capable of holding 31 rounds.
