Charges in Chinatown-International District Stabbing Case
Today the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged a defendant with five counts of assault, in a case that involved a rapid series of stabbings in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District on November 8, 2024. These charges are based on the admissible evidence referred by Seattle Police investigators:
- 4 counts of Assault in the First Degree
- 1 count of Assault in the Fourth Degree
The charge types are based on the severity of the injuries and what can be proven under the law.
“The residents, business workers, and visitors of the Chinatown-International District deserve to be safe and feel safe,” King County Prosecuting Attorney Leesa Manion said Thursday. “I am grateful for the Seattle Police Department’s work on this case.”

Where is the defendant now and what is the bail amount?
At the defendant’s first appearance hearing on Saturday, Nov. 9, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office argued that the defendant should be held on $2 million bail. The first appearance Court, after hearing from prosecutors and defense, set bail at $2 million, and a Superior Court judge maintained that bail amount with the filing of the five assault charges today. The defendant remains in the King County Jail, where he has been since his arrest by Seattle Police on Friday, Nov. 8.
Defendants are innocent until proven guilty in court.
