Charges Filed in Seattle Kidnapping Case
Today, King County Prosecutors filed a charge of Kidnapping in The Second Degree against the defendant in a Seattle case.
In last week’s first appearance hearing, King County prosecutors argued that the then-suspect should be held on $350,000 bail. The court agreed.
From the public charging documents:
On August 17th , the defendant lured and snatched a 3-year-old girl from her front yard where she was playing with her older siblings. The defendant called her mother and advised she had taken the girl. Law enforcement, responding to tips regarding the defendant’s identity, sped to the defendant’s apartment. While there, interviewing the defendant’s teenage children, the defendant arrived holding the abducted toddler. The defendant declined an interview but made spontaneous comments admitting to taking the child and stating she worked for DSHS and had a right to take her. When the child was taken by law enforcement, she stated she was scared and wanted mommy.
