In the last 10 days, King County prosecutors have filed charges in five Seattle homicide investigations — made possible by the work and referrals from Seattle Police investigators.

The cases, based on investigations by Seattle Police, are:

Two defendants were charged under case numbers 24–1–00865–5 and 24–1–00864–7. Both were charged in King County Superior Court with Murder in the Second Degree with a firearm enhancement.

The Feb. 22, 2024 shooting near 8th Avenue and Seneca Street: Seattle Police sent this case on March 5 and King County prosecutors charged the defendant on March 6. The case number is 24–1–00826–4. The defendant is charged with Murder in the First Degree with a deadly weapon enhancement.

The Feb. 25, 2024 shooting on the 100 block of South Washington Street: King County Prosecutors rush filed this case on March 14, which we received from Seattle Police on March 12 (case number 24–1–00103–1). The court set bail at that amount after hearing from both sides and found probable cause for homicide and assault. The defendant was charged with Murder in the Second Degree and two counts of Assault in the First Degree, each with firearm enhancements.
