The KCPAO is sharing the number of adult cases filed each day and additional details about a handful of specific cases to highlight the kinds of cases we handle. Details below are from the public charging documents.

Robbery In The First Degree

Unlawful Imprisonment

In this case, while holding the victim at gunpoint in a Redmond hotel room, the defendants demanded that the victim electronically transfer funds or she would be shot. They also threatened to shoot her if she tried to leave. Luckily, the victim was able to text a friend who then contacted law enforcement. When officers arrived at the hotel room, they found a large amount of cash that the victim identified as “fake” currency and a loaded handgun with no serial number. The victim told officers she was scared she would be shot if she was not compliant or if she tried to leave the hotel room.” King County Prosecutors requested be set at $300,000 and $200,000, for each defendant respectively, based on a belief that the defendants are likely to commit another violent offense.

The defendant forced a vulnerable 22-year-old relative to smoke drugs and raped her, despite her clear verbal lack of consent, incapacity due to the drugs, and physical resistance. At the defendant’s first appearance, King County Prosecutors requested bail in the amount of $200,000 and a judge set bail at $100,000.

Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act (possession with intent — fentanyl)

On September 24, Seattle Police office working at and around 3rd and Pike saw the defendant making what appeared to be a narcotics transaction with another man. During a search incident to arrest, officers located a scale, Ziploc-style baggies, and 10.3 grams of fentanyl. Officers also found $1,284 cash in various denominations. At the defendant’s first appearance hearing, King County Prosecutors argued for him to be held on $10,000 bail. The first appearance judge released the defendant on his personal recognizance, over prosecutors’ objection.
