Charges filed by the KCPAO: Thursday, Sept. 29
The overwhelming majority of criminal cases filed daily by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office don’t receive public attention.
That’s not the fault of the public or news reporters — it’s understandable with the volume of felony cases we file each day.
The KCPAO is sharing the number of adult cases filed each day and additional details about a handful of specific cases to highlight the kinds of cases we handle. Details below are from the public charging documents.

Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the First Degree
The defendant was arrested on outstanding warrants. Inside his backpack that was in the car, police found a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol with approximately 14 rounds in the magazine and one round in the chamber. The defendant’s criminal history includes convictions for Burglary 1 (2013), Violation of a No Contact Order (2011 x3), and Attempted Residential Burglary (2009). The KCPAO asked a judge to hold him on $25,000.

Attempted Sexual Exploitation Of A Minor
Communication With A Minor For Immoral Purposes
Possession of Depictions of Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct in the First Degree
In this Bothell case, the defendant communicated with a person he believed to be a 13-year-old girl and requesting that girl to perform sexually explicit acts, record them, and send them to the defendant for money. He was actually talking to law enforcement under cover. After serving a search warrant, investigators found depictions of actual minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on the defendant’s phone. At his first appearance, the KCPAO argued that the defendant should be held on $100,000 bail. The first appearance judge set bail at $50,000.

Malicious Mischief In The Second Degree
Reckless Endangerment
The defendant threw rocks and other objects at vehicles traveling on SR 900 in Renton. To smash a windshield of a car traveling at freeway speeds puts not only the driver of that vehicle in danger, it puts anyone nearby in danger as a driver’s ability to see is compromised and of course would be inclined to stop quickly or swerve while driving. At the defendant’s first appearance, the KCPAO argued that he should be held on $100,000. The first appearance judge set bail at $50,000. The KCPAO rush filed this felony case, and we appreciate the work of the State Patrol. This is an investigation that is ongoing and other individuals are being contacted and additional charges may be added.
