Charges filed by the KCPAO: Thursday, Nov. 10

--

The overwhelming majority of criminal cases filed daily by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office don’t receive public attention.

That’s not the fault of the public or news reporters — it’s understandable with the volume of felony cases we file each day.

The KCPAO is sharing the number of adult cases filed each day and additional details about a handful of specific cases to highlight the kinds of cases we handle. Details below are from the public charging documents.

Residential Burglary

The defendant is a danger to the community. He has six burglary convictions since 2013. He was sentenced on the most recent conviction in 2020. In this Seattle case, the defendant became angry with the victim when the victim asked the defendant to leave his home according to their agreement. The defendant attacked the victim, punching him in the face, and a fight ensued. The defendant was injured when the victim used a kitchen knife in self-defense. The victim ran to get help and the defendant exited through a window. The victim returned to find his cell phones had been taken by the defendant. King County prosecutors are concerned the defendant will continue to commit violent offenses if he is released and therefore asked for bail to be set at $25,000.

Dealing in Depictions of Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct in the First Degree

Possession of Depictions of Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct in the First Degree

Voyeurism in the First Degree (2 charges)

King County prosecutors requested bail be set at $100,000, as set by the first appearance judge, based on the likelihood that the defendant will commit a violent offense in light of the depraved nature of the depictions which he collected, and in consideration of the defendant’s surreptitious filming and sharing of sexually explicit images and videos of others in the community. The defendant is charged with peddling in the misery of sexually abused children to satiate deviant interests and therefore has evidenced the threat he poses to community safety, most specifically minor children.

Assault In The Third Degree

Reckless Endangerment

In this Sammamish case, officers responded to a call regarding a dispute with tenants. A deputy approached the defendant’s car and ran the information — the car was reported stolen. The defendant grabbed the gear shift and was instructed to stop. The deputy reached in to stop him, but the defendant sped off, dragging the deputy several feet, causing injury. The passenger of the vehicle was attempted to get out of the car, but was ejected from the vehicle and suffered injury to her head from striking the ground. King County prosecutors asked a judge to set bail at $30,000 with the filing of charges.

These case summaries, which were posted Nov. 22, 2022, are not expected to be updated. To see additional details in each case, go to the KC-Script Portal.
