Charges filed by the KCPAO: Thursday, June 30
The overwhelming majority of criminal cases filed daily by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office don’t receive public attention. That’s not the fault of the public or news reporters — it’s understandable with the volume of felony cases we file each day.
The KCPAO is sharing the number of adult cases filed each day and additional details about a handful of specific cases to highlight information about the kind of cases we handle.

This case happened in Seattle’s Little Saigon neighborhood, an area that was the subject of Operation New Day to address criminal activity affecting businesses and neighbors. From the charging documents:
After law enforcement observed a hand-to-hand drug transaction [on June 26] involving the defendant, the Honorable Judge Whedbee issued a search warrant for the defendant’s vehicle. Over 1,100 fentanyl pills were recovered in unmarked plastic baggies throughout the vehicle, in addition to 70 grams of methamphetamine, 61 grams of crack cocaine, and 18.9 grams of heroin, all in unmarked plastic baggies. Additionally, $1,124.00 in mixed bills were found in the vehicle. The State requests bail set in the amount of $5,000.00, the amount set at King County District Court at First Appearance. [The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office argued for him to be held on $10,000 bail, and the first appearance judge set bail at $10,000.] The defendant has a pending VUCSA- Delivery case in King County Superior Court for delivering fentanyl in the same neighborhood as this case (Cause №22–1–03187–1 SEA). [In the earlier case, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office asked a judge to hold him on $5,000 bail and the defendant posted bond.]

Residential Burglary
From the charging documents:
The victim called 911 saying there’s someone in his [Redmond] apartment. Police arrived and the defendant was still in the apartment. Police recognized him from prior contacts. He admitted to going into the apartment to look for snacks. He admitted to knowing it wasn’t his home, as he lives in Bellevue. He was arrested while wearing the victim’s shoes. The State requests that the Court issue a warrant in the amount of $5,000.00 because the defendant is currently in custody on another matter.

Hate Crime
Assault in the Fourth Degree
From the charging documents:
On June 28, 2022, the defendant caused extensive damage to the St. Louis Catholic Church. A victim listed in the police report was on site that day, and a witness was praying inside the church. The defendant spray painted hateful comments on at least 25 different locations on the church property, broke an entry glass door, yelled obscenities at both the victim and witness, and defaced a Virgin Mary statute. When the victim yelled at the defendant to leave the property, she charged at him and spray-painted part of his face and his shirt. The defendant also yelled at the witness, but the witness was able to lock herself inside the church for safety. The defendant has no criminal history that the State is aware of. However, the nature of this incident combined with the defendant’s willingness to escalate to physical violence is concerning The State requests bail set in the amount of 25,000.
