The overwhelming majority of criminal cases filed daily by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office don’t receive public attention. That’s not the fault of the public or news reporters — it’s understandable with the volume of felony cases we file each day.
The KCPAO is sharing the number of adult cases filed each day and additional details about a handful of specific cases to highlight the kinds of cases we handle.

Possession Of Stolen Vehicle
From the charging documents:
On 7/17/2022, the defendant was riding a confirmed stolen Harley Davidson motorcycle. [The owner] does not know the defendant, nor did the defendant have permission to possess [the owner’s] motorcycle. Upon contact, police observed that the motorcycle did not have a license plate and was painted grey. A search of the vehicle’s vin revealed that the motorcycle’s original color was white. Additionally, the motorcycle was being operated by the defendant without a key, and there existed visible paint concealing the condition of the vehicle’s ignition. The KCPAO argued for the defendant to be held in jail on bail in part because of his long conviction history and a 2020 bench warrant that was active at the time of his arrest.
