Human Trafficking In The Second Degree

Promoting Commercial Sexual Abuse Of A Minor

Rape in the Third Degree

The defendant’s behavior in this case is extremely concerning, he met the victim, a 17year old-girl, on social media and recruited her to engage in commercial sex acts for his benefit. He then drove to Oregon to pick the victim up and drove her back to King County. Once here, the defendant repeatedly assaulted and raped the victim and forced her to engage in commercial sex acts for his profit. He groomed her and set strict rules for her conduct, including making her call him “Daddy” and punished her with forced oral sex or other assaults if she did not follow his rules. He also pointed a gun at her and threatened to throw her out of a moving vehicle on the freeway. According to the victim the defendant indicated that he had other females working for him. The victim’s statements to law enforcement are corroborated by the information obtained from social media via search warrants. The defendant was on a Stipulated Order of Continuance (SOC) out of Federal Way Municipal Court for two counts of Assault in the Fourth Degree, one with a Domestic Violence designation, when he committed these offenses. According to court records, the conditions of his order include that the defendant not possess firearms and not commit similar law violations. According to the docket in that matter on July 7, 2022, a warrant was issued for the defendant’s arrest. At a hearing held on July 25, 2022, the court found him to be in violation of the conditions of his SOC and ordered him to complete two days of day reporting. On September 7, 2022, his probation officer filed a report indicating that the defendant failed to complete his ordered day reporting. Clearly the defendant feels free to disregard the Court’s orders and conditions. While the defendant does not have any other known criminal history, there is evidence form this investigation that the defendant may be trafficking additional victims. He poses a clear danger to the community. The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office argued that he should be held on $250,000 bail.

Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act (possession with intent — meth)

In this Auburn case, the defendant was found with roughly 200 grams of methamphetamine. The defendant has a pending drug and gun case for unlawfully possessing a short barrel firearm, and that case was rush filed by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and prosecutors argued for $40,000 bail in that case. A judge set bail at $30,000, and the defendant posted bond prior to this case, which King County prosecutors also rush filed.

Custodial Assault

In the present case, the defendant was in custody and being escorted by Officer Drake within the King County Jail. Unprovoked, the defendant punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground and causing her nose to bleed uncontrollably. As a result of the defendant’s assault, the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center and continues to suffer from pain to her cheek, nose, both knees, and her lower back. The defendant’s violent, unprovoked actions here, combined with his criminal history and numerous pending criminal charges as outlined below, demonstrate that bail is appropriate and necessary to protect the community. King County prosecutors argued for $150,000 at the first appearance, and a judge set bail at $100,000. He’s also charged with Burglary In The Second Degree and Theft of a Motor Vehicle in a separate case. The defendant has an additional $5,000 in that felony case.

These case summaries, which were posted Sept. 19, 2022, are not expected to be updated. To see additional details in each case, go to the KC-Script Portal.
