Charges filed by the KCPAO: Friday, June 10
The overwhelming majority of criminal cases filed daily by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office don’t receive public attention. That’s not the fault of the public or news reporters — it’s understandable with the volume of felony cases we file each day.
The KCPAO is sharing the number of adult cases filed each day and additional details about a handful of specific cases to highlight information about the kind of cases we handle.

Murder in the First Degree
From the charging documents:
This past week, the defendant retrieved a shotgun and ammunition from his basement after an argument with his wife of twenty years. Loading the shotgun, he confronted his wife and shot her, leaving her to die in the couple’s home. Later, when discovery of his violent act appeared inevitable, the defendant turned himself into the police. Although taking responsibility for his act in his confession to police, he showed little remorse. The defendant, based on the nature of the murder and his access to firearms if released, clearly poses a danger to the community. Despite his lack of prior criminal history, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years on the Murder in the First-Degree charge when coupled with the Firearm Enhancement. The State requests bail set at $2 million.

Robbery in the First Degree
Attempted Robbery in the First Degree
Attempting to Elude a Pursuing Police Vehicle (only case 22–1–03586–4)
From the charging documents:
According to the Certification for Determination of Probable Cause, one of the adult defendants and a juvenile male — who were both armed with handguns — entered a Chase Bank and demanded money from the employees. When employees were unable to provide any money, the pair left. Approximately an hour later, one of the adult defendants and the juvenile male committed an armed robbery at Salal Credit Union and obtained approximately $48,000. Officers located and attempted to stop the getaway vehicle. The driver, the second adult defendant — who was the driver during both robberies — fled from officers. During the vehicle pursuit, the first adult defendant and the juvenile male jumped out of the back seat of the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers apprehended the pair and located a Glock 19 near the arrest location. The getaway vehicle eventually stopped, and the second adult defendant fled on foot. Another handgun was observed on the rear floorboard of the getaway vehicle. The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office asked a judge to hold the first adult defendant in jail on $500,000 bail and the second adult defendant in jail on $100,000 bail. The juvenile defendant was charged in Juvenile Court with Attempted Robbery in the First Degree (Financial Institution), Robbery in the First Degree (Financial Institution), and Attempted Robbery in the First Degree (Displays Deadly Weapon).
