Charges filed by the KCPAO: Friday, July 15
The overwhelming majority of criminal cases filed daily by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office don’t receive public attention. That’s not the fault of the public or news reporters — it’s understandable with the volume of felony cases we file each day.
The KCPAO is sharing the number of adult cases filed each day and additional details about a handful of specific cases to highlight the kinds of cases we handle.

Burglary in the Second Degree
From the charging documents:
On June 2, 2022, the defendant entered Lucky Strike and stole a CDJ Pioneer MK2 DJ Turntables, and a Hazer fog machine, along with additional items. Officers reviewed surveillance video, and noted the defendant entered through a rear service entrance. The general manager informed Officers at a later date that he found the matching turntables being sold on Facebook Marketplace in Seattle. Seattle PD was contacted. On June 28th , 2022, Officers reviewed Lucky Strike Surveillance, which shows the defendant removing the electronic turntable equipment and placing them into bags. The defendant was seen on additional surveillance outside of the business, as well as traffic cameras. The defendant was seen walking with the bags full of equipment to the transit center nearby. Seattle PD investigated the marketplace ad, and identified the individuals selling the equipment. Seattle PD was able to identify the defendant through additional security footage, which shows the defendant trading the stolen property with other suspects in exchange for drugs.

Attempting to Elude a Pursuing Police Vehicle
Reckless Endangerment
From the charging documents:
On July 13th , 2022, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance with a gun. The 911 caller reported that a male was holding a gun, while yelling at two women and a child. The caller stated the two women got into a green Honda and drove away. […] Officers attempted to pull over the Honda, and activated emergency lights and sirens. The Honda accelerated at a high rate of speed and drove around a box truck, continuing to travel at a high rate of speed. Officers attempted to keep up with the Honda, but it drove too fast. Eventually, Officers caught up to the Honda, and watched the driver (later identified as the defendant), almost hit a vehicle head-on, when it passed vehicles on the left of traffic at a red light. A 911 caller reported seeing the green Honda exiting I405 at a high rate of speed, and reported a small child in the backseat “bouncing around.” The juvenile was later identified as the child of the defendant, and reported to Officers that he injured his head on the window because the defendant was driving fast. [After speaking with the man with the gun he] told police the defendant, and another suspect, were using a hydraulic floor jack, attempted to get under his Prius. He believed they were trying to cut off his catalytic converter. He went outside with his handgun, to try to detain them until police could arrive. […] Post-Miranda, the defendant admitted to Officers that she was attempting to steal the catalytic converter to sell for money to supply her drug habit.
